Diploma Mailings

  • Diplomas are printed with the student Name, Degree, Graduation Date and GPA Honors if applicable.

  • Majors, Minors and Honors College are not included on the diploma but are indicated on the transcript.

  • Certificates are mailed separately from degrees.

  • Graduates earning more than one degree will receive separate diplomas for each.

  • Diplomas measure 14 x 11 inches and certificates measure 8.5 x 11 inches.

  • For degrees completed prior to Fall 2010, diplomas measure 8.5 x 11 inches.

  • Diplomas and Certificates are mailed to the Diploma Address listed on myWSU Student Center. Students can change or edit their Diploma Address.

  • If no Diploma Address is available at the time of mailing, then the HOME address is used. Diplomas cannot be mailed to the mailing address in myWSU.

  • All address changes must be entered into myWSU by the last day of instruction of the term.

  • Diplomas mail within 4 to 6 weeks after degrees post to WSU Transcript.

  • For students living overseas, diplomas can take longer than 6 weeks to arrive.

  • Diplomas and Certificates are processed and mailed separately and may arrive at different times.

  • Tracking numbers are not available for diplomas in-transit.

  • Diplomas cannot be mailed until the student has satisfied all outstanding holds. To determine if you have a hold, go to myWSU and select the "Tasks" tile from your Student Homepage. Contact the appropriate department as soon as possible to clear your hold. WSU Graduations is unable to provide you with detailed information regarding the reason for the hold.

  • Debt holds take a minimum of two business days to be removed after payment is made. Your diploma will arrive approximately 4 to 6 weeks after the hold is removed. Arrival time for students living overseas will be longer.

  • Depending on the type of hold it can take several weeks to be processed and removed.

  • The name listed on your diploma and transcript is your primary name on record with WSU.

  • Students can view their primary name on record on myWSU or by viewing the unofficial transcript.

  • Diplomas are printed: First Middle Last

  • Transcripts are printed: Last, First Middle

  • Name changes of any kind must be completed no later than the last day of instruction for it to be reflected on the diploma.

Name Adjustments and Accents

Name adjustments and accents can be requested through Graduation Information Verification or the Diploma Name Change Request form.

  • Adjustments can be made to First and Middle names only.

  • Accents can be added to First, Middle and Last names.

  • These adjustments apply only to the name printed on the diploma.

  • Accents will NOT show on myWSU.

  • First and Middle Name changes can be viewed in myWSU by selecting the Profile tile and then selecting "Diploma" under the Personal Details tab. These adjustments will be added prior to the printing of diplomas and will not be immediately visible to students.
